SEC Introduces EDGAR Next to Streamline Access and Security
Washington, D.C., March 6, 2025 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched comprehensive guidance and resources to assist filers in navigating upcoming access and account management enhancements to the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system.
Starting March 24, 2025, filers can access the new EDGAR Filer Management dashboard, where they may enroll in EDGAR Next. Additionally, individuals or entities needing EDGAR access can submit the Form ID access application through the system.
EDGAR Next Enrollment Timeline and Requirements
The SEC adopted EDGAR Next rule and form amendments in September 2024 to enhance filers’ ability to securely manage and maintain access to their accounts. The system also simplifies the procedures for obtaining EDGAR credentials.
While enrollment in EDGAR Next will remain open until December 19, 2025, filers are strongly encouraged to complete their enrollment by September 12, 2025, to avoid disruptions in their ability to file.
